58. The relationship between E and qualia

In modern science electromagnetic relations and subjective experience are typically treated as two separate domains. Physics describes electrical relations mathematically, while qualia — the experience of colour, sound, pain, heat, weight or joy — is treated as a separate phenomenon without an established physical explanation.

In the EC/HE theory this distinction is secondary. E and qualia are not two separate realities. They are two simultaneous aspects of the same relational event.

E expresses the relation as understanding in KNOWING. Qualia expresses the same relation as sensation through the Experience Circle. They do not arise in sequence — not first understanding, then experience, or the reverse. They are simultaneous and inseparable. THE SENSATION is not something added to the relation. It is the experienced side of the relation from the first moment.

This is not merely a point about perception. It is a fundamental ontological polarity. And it is found throughout manifest reality: understanding and sensation, electric and magnetic, mirroring and recoil. None of these are independent phenomena that happen to resemble each other. They are different expressions of the same twofold division — the same original splitting that makes manifest experience possible at all (see: 5. THE FIRST POLARITY).

E and qualia thus constitute the theory’s first and most fundamental polarity. One side expresses what a relation is in KNOWING. The other expresses that the same relation is — as it is felt from within.
