5.7.1. Polarity, dissociation and ego

This part moves from the cosmological and physical structures to the emergence of local experience. If the universe develops through the Experience Circle, Attractor Dynamics and continuous relational reorganisation, the same principles must also explain how individual perspectives arise, how self-awareness develops, and why human beings experience themselves as separate individuals.

The mechanism that makes this possible is dissociation. Without local focusing, experience would remain undifferentiated and without perspective. For observation to take place, parts of experience must be organised as local vantage points within the larger relational landscape. Only then can relations appear as something experienced from a particular perspective.

Through further emergence, such perspectives develop ever more complex forms of self-reference. Experience gradually begins to observe itself. Self-mirroring, memory, identity and narrative organisation eventually form the basis for what appears in humans as the ego. The ego does not represent a flaw in the system, but an advanced stabilisation mechanism that makes individualised experience possible.

At the same time, a new challenge arises. The stronger the local organisation becomes, the more easily the connection to the more extensive relational structures from which it springs is masked. The individual begins to identify with its own perspective and its own stabilisations. The local world of representation gradually appears as the whole of reality.

The points that follow examine this development more closely. How do polarity and fundamental directions of focus arise? How does dissociation develop into self-awareness and ego? How are local ego-trees formed? Why is contact with the whole masked? And what mechanisms make it possible to reorganise understanding so that larger parts of the relational landscape can again emerge into experience?

These are not merely questions of psychology. They are questions of how the universe organises local experience of itself.
