4.1. The process
The Experience Circle — the mechanism the Horizon Equation describes mathematically — has been an established concept since it was introduced in The Experiencer in 2022 (see: varhet.com/show/1835). At that time it was superficially understood, but correct nonetheless. The Mechanism then had three steps that repeated cyclically. Now this has become 104.
The book is the documentation of the process leading to the discovery. It reproduces the conversations exactly as they took place — with resistance, with false trails, with corrections and with moments when something fell into place that had been stuck fast.
Formal proof of uniqueness and parsimony for the Horizon Equation still remains to be established. This task has been mathematically formulated and is now being passed on to the scientific community. But the ontological chain of explanation existed before the derivation of the fine-structure constant began — not after, as is often the case in this kind of theoretical work. One tries to explain things retrospectively. Not here.
A small consolation to those who now understand that what is presented here is significant, but who at the same time find it dense with mathematical symbols and expressions: the language used and the knowledge assumed can only be fully followed by those with a solid academic background. That is how it must be — for the primary audience is the sharpest minds. I have attempted to include more accessible explanations along the way, but even these are probably not accessible enough for everyone.
It is nonetheless permitted — and necessary — to skip through the text, skim long stretches, read the same passage thirty-two times, look up words and concepts — and take a walk outside occasionally. Or put the whole thing down and return to it when ready, in a few years, when others may in the meantime have managed to convey this better than I myself can manage.
This is not a novel.
It is a complex scientific thriller. With a solution.
