Day 1 – Before We Talk About the World

Here is the Facebook post where you can see any comments – and comment yourself!

–-

I want to start with the most fundamental level, before we talk about the world, systems, and the future.

Most people I meet – regardless of background, age, or life situation – are now sensing the same thing: that something no longer adds up. That what used to carry no longer carries in the same way. That structures, relationships, institutions, identities, and representations are losing their solidity. Something has begun to slip. Something no longer holds its shape.

For some, this feels like unease or fatigue. For others, like restlessness, grief, anger, or emptiness. For yet others, like a silence – a strange pause, as if something is in the process of letting go, but without the new having yet appeared. Many cannot quite put it into words, but almost no one feels that everything is as it was before.

Some interpret this as a personal crisis. Others as a societal crisis. Some as a spiritual transition, others as sheer exhaustion. But before we give this a name, before we try to understand or explain it, I want us to stop here – in the experience.

Because this is common to all of us: something is in motion, whether we want it to be or not.

So today I will only ask two simple questions, without any demand for correct answers:

  • What in your life feels less stable now than it did a few years ago?
  • Where do you sense that something is letting go, even though you do not quite know what it is?

You may respond, write a little, write a lot, or just read. All of it is equally valid.

Tomorrow we will add one simple perspective that can help us see this experience more clearly. Today we stay with what is actually being experienced, before thought takes over.
