Summary of the theory:

10.10. Dissociation

To dissociate means to separate or split something into smaller parts.

Your life is a dissociated experience in the universal consciousness of the Experiencer.

Everything that exists is in this collective consciousness, both as mental perceptions (ideas, interpretations) and as experiences (thoughts, something material, emotions, etc.).

The universal, one Experiencer has an experience of being everything imagined, everything that exists in the whole world at all times, past and future – at once.

You, too, have the same ability to conceptualise and experience, but your perspective is different, and thus the experience as well. Let's take it a little down to earth.

For example, you imagine being different roles: mother, project manager at work, handball goalkeeper, etc. You switch between them with ease. Such shifts can also be caused by trauma and mental disorders – or you dissociate when you experience a situation as unreal or as something that strangely does not concern you, even if you are in the middle of it.

So this is dissociation, and we do it all continuously, whether we are «normal» or «abnormal», because such differences are just cultural conventions.

Behind all your roles is a «main role», which is your idea of who and what you are. That too is dissociation, but in this case, a dissociation in the universal Experiencer.

The dissociation happened when you were born and began to experience yourself as a body with a position in space, time, etc. From this perspective, you create your mental perceptions that are also experienced as qualia, i.e. something «real».

That is what in spiritual lingua is called «Ego».

You think you are «you», and you experience being «you», but you are really the Experiencer who has one of countless dissociated experiences.

This means that you still have contact with and possess all the Experiencer's' qualities and knowledge because you are, in fact, quite specifically, a part of the Experiencer.

Your role as «you» overshadows all this.

Since you always focus «outwards» on anything emerging around you and also inside your perceived body and Ego-mind – you are blind to whatever might exist behind all these «believable» impressions. You do not look inward towards what you dissociated from and actually are, nor are you aware of what exceptional abilities you have and everything you know.

Sometimes, however, «Source consciousness» penetrates, that is, the Experiencer's complete knowledge and experiences. «The Collective», I often call it, and it's experienced as intuition; true, immediate knowledge beyond analytical logic and explanation.

Intuition is something the Ego cannot understand because the Ego is just an experience in the Collective. The Ego is an emergent interpretation further out in the emergence chain and understands and experiences only that which itself has fantasised.

The Ego is the leaves of the tree. The trunk is the Collective – the source of intuition and all things manifested as «real». The whole tree is the Experiencer.

Intuition emerges when the Ego is put away for a while, which is impossible to do through conscious action, for what you are conscious of, is Ego.

Intuition is experienced, quite correctly, as «something different» and can be reached through meditation, hallucinogens, flow, more or less mysterious rituals etc.

That is ancient knowledge in most cultures, and it was more current before than now. In our time, we have created an Ego-based society. At the same time, our community is so sick, and we ourselves so stressed, that many are forced to look «differently» at both themselves and everything else.

Then it comes out from behind, the real thing, that which is untouched by your Ego. This is called a «spiritual awakening», which is usually a challenging journey because your whole perspective changes.
