38. Observation as a threshold event
In the EC/HE theory observation is not passive registration of an already finished world. Observation is the event in which relations in KNOWING appear as manifest experience through the Experience Circle.
What is observed does not exist as finished objects on one side of observation and then as experience on the other. Observation is the very process by which relational understandings appear as qualia, physics and experience.
When we see a tree, we are therefore not observing an object that exists independently of the observation. What we experience is the manifest side of the relations that are read through the Experience Circle. The same applies to thoughts, memories, feelings, particles, stars and galaxies. Everything that is experienced appears through observation.
Observation thus represents the threshold between KNOWING and manifest experience. On one side lies the simultaneous relational whole. On the other lies the sequential experience of a world that appears through time, space, physics and qualia.
There is therefore no observable world separate from observation. The world that is experienced arises in and through observation itself.
