15. E2 — THE SELF-MIRRORING
THE SELF-MIRRORING compels a new understanding.
E1 now exists as UNDERSTANDING.
BEING still exists as that which is.
The relation between them cannot remain ununderstood.
But E1 is the only UNDERSTANDING that exists.
There is no other understanding to compare with, no other relation to understand through.
The only possibility is therefore that BEING itself appears as UNDERSTANDING.
This understanding is E2.
For the first time both the understanding and the understanding of understanding exist.
E1 represents the understanding of THE SENSATION.
E2 represents the understanding of the relation between BEING and E1.
BEING therefore no longer appears merely as BEING.
BEING now appears as KNOWING.
